Junior Accountant

job summary:

Established and successful hardware/software company is seeking an aspiring Junior Accountant to join their growing team. An excellent opportunity to begin or grow your accounting career.

Duties include entering invoices, verifying expense reimbursement forms are complete, processing payments, and reconciling AP and AP related accounts. You will also support the Accountants Receivable Department by creating sales invoices, contacting customers about payment or releasing customer's on credit hold.

  • Post and process vendor invoices (PO related and non-PO related).

  • Ensure purchase orders (PO's) have been generated accurately for the following:

  • General Ledger account

  • Vendor information

  • Dollar amount

  • Proper approvals collected.

  • Process expense reports for reimbursement by verifying all the proper documentation has been provided and has been approved by the appropriate person.

  • Process payments on a weekly basis via ACH, wire and check by ensuring all payment batches have the correct support (ie invoice, packing slip if applicable and approvals).

  • Assist our accounts receivable accountant with miscellaneous tasks that arise.

  • Review Vendor Requests and ask for appropriate tax documentation, bank information, etc. for entry in our ERP system.


  • Must be highly detailed oriented and organized.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with all levels of employees, management and third parties.

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365.

  • Complete understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.

  • Experience using an ERP system.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
